Maurice - Floris Van Der Stoep, 77, of Maurice, died Monday, June 12, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Christian Reformed Church of Ireton. The Rev. Bernard Fynaardt officiated. Burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City, with the Van Etten-Oolman Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Van Der Stoep was born November 16, 1900 at Leota, Minnesota. He married Gerti Mulder March 12, 1922, at Orange City. They farmed in the Ireton, Hawarden and Orange City area until 1965, and retired to a rural acreage near Ireton. Mrs. Ver Der Stoep died in December of 1974.
He was a member of the Christian reformed Church of Ireton., Survivors include two daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Sadie) Ver Hoeven of Hawarden, and Mrs. Arlin (Gertrude) Mohlenkamp of Sanborn; six sons, Andrew of Sanborn, Dick of Maurice, Herbert and Edwin of Rock Rapids, Clarence of Orange City and Harold of Sioux Center; 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: three half-brothers, Gerrit Gravengood of Hull, Henry Gravengood of Pau Pau, Illinois, and Jake Gravengood of Rock Valley; and a half-sister, Mrs. Marinus (Helen) De Ruyter of Worthington, Minnesota.
