ORANGE CITY--Henry DeGroot, 86, Orange City, died Sunday at an Orange City hospital after lengthy illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed Church with Dr.Raymond Van Heukelom and the Rev. Perry Raak officiating. Burial in West Lawn Cemetery was under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mr. DeGroot was born Dec.17, 1890 near Boyden and married Jennie Kreykes Rensink Sept.29, 1920 in Sheldon. They farmed north of Orange City until 1951 when they retired and moved to Orange City.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter Mrs. Fred (Henrietta) Vander Weerd of Orange City; a son, Marvin of Bristol, VA.; six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Mary)Hubers of Orange City and Mrs. Henry (Henrietta) Reinders, both of Orange City.
