HAWARDEN--Gerald M.Moothart, 44, of Hawarden, died Sunday in an Iowa City Hospital of a heart disorder.
Services were at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary Catholic Church in Hawarden. The Rev. William Carel officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. The Rosary was recited at 8:15 p.m. Thursday in the Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Mr. Moothart was born July 9, 1932, in Madison, SD. He graduated from Madison High School. He attended Dakota State College at Madison, SD.He was married to Virginia Johannsen Feb. 4, 1956, in Madison. He was a member of the Hawarden Fire Department and the American Legion. He served in the armed forces during the Korean Conflict. He was manager of lumber yards in Garvin and Tracy, Minn. and Groton, SD. before becoming manager of Schoeneman Lumber Co, in Hawarden for the last 12 years.
Survivors include the widow; three daughters, Terri, Gloria and JoLynn, all at home; two sons Tim and David, both at home; His mother Mrs. Anna Moothart of Madison, SD.; two sisters, Mrs. Arnold (Kay)Burmeisterof Bredus, Mont. and Mrs. Elton(Sharon) Schlim of West Covena,Calif.; three brothers, Lyman of State Center, Dewey of Denison Charles of Madison.
