Susan Van Tubergen, 80, died at a Sioux City hospital Wednesday afternoon, September 15, 1976 following a brief illness. Services were held Sept. 18, 1976, in the First Reformed Church. Rev. R. Van Heukelom and Rev. Perry Raak officiated and burial was in the West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.

Mrs. Van Tubergen was born July 4, 1896, on a farm by Newkirk, the daughter of Gerrit and Janke Harmelink. She was married to Edward Van Tubergen on December 7, 1921, at Newkirk and they farmed until retiring in Orange City in 1957. Mr. Van Tubergen died on December 11, 1965. She was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Johana) Hatfield of South Bend, Ind., Miss Jeanette Van Tubergen of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Gerald (Wilmina) Miller of Des Moines, Iowa, two sons Gerald of Hospers, and Edgar of George, also eleven grandchildren, five brothers, Simon Harmelink of Orange City, Charles Harmelink of Sheldon, Joe Harmelink of Milford, Henry Harmelink of Sheldon and Cornie Harmelink of Sioux Center, one sister Miss Dorothy Harmelink of Orange City.

Orange City-Mrs. Edward Van Tubergen, 80, of Orange City, died Sept. 15 at a hospital in Sioux City of a brief illness.

Services were held at 10 A.M., Sept. 18 in the First Reformed Church of Orange City. The Rev. Raymond Van Heukelom and the Rev. Perry Raak officiated. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery, with the Van Gelder Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Van Tubergen, the former Susan Harmelink, was born July 4, 1896, on a farm near Newkirk. She was married Dec. 7, 1921 at Newkirk. The couple farmed near Orange City, and retired to town in 1957. Mr. Van Tubergen died Dec. 11, 1965.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Johanna) Hatfield of South Bend, Ind., Miss Jeanette of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Gerald (Wilmina) Miller of Des Moines; and two sons, Gerald of Hospers and Edgar of George; 11 grandchildren; five brothers, Simon of Orange City, Charles and Henry of Sheldon, Joe of Milford and Cornie of Sioux Center; and one sister, Miss Dorothy of Orange City.
