Sioux Center News- July 20, l977
Mrs. Maas Vande Hoef, 83, of Sioux Center, died Monday in the Sioux Center hospital.
Services were at l0 a.m. Thursday in the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home at Sioux Center. The Rev. L. Kieboom officiated and burial was in the Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center.
Mrs. Vande Hoef, the former Hattie Bleyenberg, was born Aug. ll, l893, in the Netherlands. She was married Feb. l8, l9l5 at Ireton. She came to this country as a child and lived in the Sioux Center area most of her life. Mr. Vande Hoef died Nov. l6, l952.
Survivors include two sons, John of Sioux Center and Arthur of Lynden, Wash.; five daughters, Mrs. Case (Gertrude) Schelling of Hull; Mrs. Joe (Ida) Van Veldhuizen of Battleground, Wash.; Mrs. Jake (Margaret) Vande Stouwe of Hull; Mrs. Bert (Janet) Van Kekerix of Rock Valley, and Mrs. Simon (Henrietta) Van Beek of Doon; 39 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ben, Gerrit and Dick, all of Sioux Center, and four sisters, Mrs. Jennie Miedema, Mrs. William (Ida) De Vries and mrs. Jake (Bess) Harskamp, all of Sioux Center, and Mrs. Lane (Gertie) Schelling of Ireton. One son, Dick, preceded her in death April 7, l967.
