Rock Valley-Mrs. Andrew De Young, 86, of Hudsonville, Mich., formerly of Doon, Iowa, died Sept. 14 at a Hudsonville nursing home. Services were held at 1 P.M., Sept. 17 at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley with the Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Doon.

Mrs. De Young, the former Mary VerDoorn, was born March 31, 1890 at Middleburg, Iowa. She was married to Harry De Groot in 1908. He died in 1950. She married Mr. De Young who preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Marinus (Elsie) Schilt of Wyoming, Mich., and Mrs. Eugene (Sadie) Tal and Mrs. Jim (Ann) Atkinson, both of Akron, Ohip; a son, Harold De Groot of Grandville, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Arie Gaalsyk of Rock Valley; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a step-daughter and four stepsons.
