Alton--Mrs. Fred Blom Sr, 59, of Alton, died Wednesday at an Orange City hospital.
Services were at l0 a.m. Saturday in the First Reformed Church at Alton. The Rev. Clarence Greving officiated. Burial was in the Newkirk Cemetery under the direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
Mrs. Blom, the former Winifred Bosma, was born Sept. 20, l9l7 at Sheldon. She was married Feb 23, l938, at Hospers. The couple farmed near Sutherland, later moving into Sutherland, and in l966 they moved to Alton.
Mrs. Blom was a member of the Reformed Church of Alton and of its Ladies Guild.
Survivors include the widower; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Eleanor) Behrens of Primghar, and Mrs. William (Carol) Frerk of Sutherland; a son, Fred Jr. of Alton; l0 grandchildren; nine sisters, Mrs. Ike (Grace)Boer of Ashton, Mrs. Clarence (Sadie) Vander Weide of Chino, Calif., Mrs. Dick (Clara) Roos of Milford, Mrs. Andrew (Jeanette) Bosch Jr. of Hospers, Mrs Ruth LeFleur of LaPalma, Calif., Mrs. Clarence (Margretta Wallich of Cypress, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Bette) Pekelder and Mrs. Harold (Lorraine) Muilenburg, both of Sheldon, and Mrs. Robert (Sophia) Le Masurie of Artesia, Calif., and four brothers, Harry, Ervin and Joe, all of Hospers, and Clarence of Canajaharie, N.Y.
