Orange City-Mrs. John W. Hofmeyer, 81, Orange City, died Oct. 24 at her home after a year's illness.
Services were at 10:30 A.M., Oct. 27 at the First Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. John Hellinga officiated and burial was in West Lawn Cemetery under direction of the Van Gelder Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hofmeyer, the former Dorothy Niemeyer, was born June 19, 1895, in rural Orange City and she was married Dec. 1, 1915 in Orange City. Mr. Hofmeyer died in March of 1958 in Orange City.
She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, Faith, Hope and Love Society, Thy Kingdom Come Society, Ladies Zangkoor, Orange City Municipal Hospital Auxiliary and the Northwestern College Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, John of Fayette, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. George (Henrietta) Tamminga of Broadview, Ill., and Mrs. Marlyn (Joan) Bonnema of Orange City; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
