Hawarden-Mrs. Garland Ellis, 87, Hawarden, died Nov. 13 at the Community Hospital in Hawarden.

Services were held at 1:30 P.M., Nov. 16 in the United Methodist Church at Hawarden. The Rev. Marion Bloodworth officiated. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery under direction of Dow Funeral Home of Hawarden.

Mrs. Ellis, the former Andrea Christine Fredrickson, was born Feb. 22, 1889, in Germany. She was married Dec. 30, 1908, in Akron. The couple lived in Hawarden before moving to Clinton in 1940. They then moved to Minneapolis, returning to Hawarden in 1956. Mr. Ellis died in August of 1973.

Mrs. Ellis was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hawarden.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Hodoway of Hawarden and Mrs. Perry (Janice) Tank of South Haven, Minn.; a son, Sylvan of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Anna Eden of Akron; six grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
