BORN- December 9, l904; Alton, Iowa
PASSED AWAY- March 6, 2005; Orange City, Iowa
AGE- l00 years, 2 months, 27 days
Memorial Service- Thursday, March 10, 2005; l0:30 a.m. Alton Reformed Church, Alton, Iowa

Jeanette was the daughter of Herman and Nellie (Den Hartog) Scholten. She was raised on a farm near Alton, where she attended country school. In l922 she graduated from the Alton High School.
She then attended normal teachers training school and taught in several rural schools in the Alton area.
On August 30, l928, she married Raymond John Riedeman at Alton. They first made their home in Orange City. However, they lived in Sanborn most of their married life. In l990, they moved to the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. Ray passed away on October 18, l990, in Sioux City, after 62 years of marriage.
Mrs. Riedeman then moved to the Prairie View Retirement Home in Sanborn. In May of 1991, she transferred to the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City, where she passed away.
She was currently a member of the Alton Reformed Church. For many years she was an active member of the Sanborn Reformed Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was president of the Ladies Aide and Mission Societies.
Jeanette enjoyed handwork and crafts, crocheting until the age of 98. She liked caring for her home and garden, including canning, giving away most of the produce. She did much baking and she and Ray enjoyed entertaining relatives and friends, often praying games.
Survivors include nineteen nieces and nephews, Virginia (Cambier) Templeton, William H. Riedeman, Helen (Horn) Peterson, Dennis Radke, Lois Te Brink, Dorothy Furda, Marilyn Loving, Nelva Vander Plaats, Arden Jasper, Carolyn Nobling, Duane Jasper, Eunice Haupert, Mona Van Voorst, Herman Langstraat, Nellie Langstraat, Anna Rensink, Johanna Den Hartog, Henrietta Slobe, and David Scholten.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, twins-Margaret and Minnie Scholten, Nelvina Scholten, and Bernice Jasper; two brothers, John Scholten and Gerald Scholten; three half-sisters, Anna Langstraat, Abby Geurink, and Grace De Boer; and a half brother, Simon Scholten.
