Age- 94 years, 6 months, 15 days
Funeral Service- Wednesday; May 16, 2001; l:00pm.
Redeemer United Reformed Church; Orange City, IA.
Clergyman- The Rev. Ralph Pontier
Special Music-"This Is My Father's World" and
Medley of Bertha's favorite Hymns- "When Peace like a River", "Abide With Me" and "Rock of Ages"
Micky Snieder, violinist and Ruby Snieder, pianist.
Congregational Hymn- "By the Sea of Crystal,"
Beth De Leeuw, pianist
Casket Bearers- Elwin Gesink, Thomas Glass, Steven Hoogeterp, Dennis Snieder, Mike TeVelde and Steven Varner.
Interment- West Lawn Cemetery; Orange City, Iowa

Bertha Christina Grace was the daughter of Gerrit Jan and Berendina (Gesink) Vos. She came to the United States when she was five years old. Her family settled at Ireton.
For many years they lived on a farm two miles north of what is known as the Million Dollar Corner, south of Sioux Center and west of Orange City. About l970 they moved into Orange City. In l997 she became a resident of the Orange City Muncipal Hospital Long Term Care Facility, where she passed away.
Miss Vos was a member of the Redeemer United Reformed Church, where she had taught Sunday School classes and participated in the womens organizations.
Bertha enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting.
Left to mourn her are her foster son, Tom (Char) Glass of Cadillac, Michigan; nieces and nephews, Berendina (Alfred) Ras of Twin Lake, Michigan; Johanna (Theo) Hoogeterp of Sheldon; Nellie TeVelde of Lynden, Washington; Bertha (Harry) Smit of Ferndale, Washington; Gertrude Bothof of Brookfield, Wisconsin; John (Elsie) TeVelde of Everson, Washington; and Lynne TeVelde of Maurice; many cousins, grand nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews; and friends, including a special friend, Ruby Snieder, of Orange City.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Herman and Conrad Vos, a sister, Gertrude TeVelde; and three nephews, Herman and Albert TeVelde, and Gerald Bothof.
Memorial may be directed to the church.
We, her family wish to say a special "Thank You" to each and every one of you who prayed for...watched over...cared for...or helped...our Dear Aunt Bert.
