Ione L. Peterson, 76, of Hawarden died Friday, July 30, at the Morning side Manor in Alcester, South Dakota.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Chruch in Hawarden with the Rev. George B. Henricksen officiating, Burial was in Big Springs Cemetery, rural Alcester.
Ione Peterson was born January 10, 1917, near Alcester, daughter of Francis and Minnie (Johanson) Peterson. She attended Ring Country School and graduated from Alcester High School. She then attended Mounds Nursing School in St. Paul MN. She practiced nursing in Adrian MN, Freeman SD, Hawarden and various other places. She retired in June 1983. She then helped to care for people in their homes in Alcester and Hawarden area. She moved to Morningside Manor in October 1991.
Survivors include a brother and his wife, Alvin and Marge Peterson of Salem SD; a brother-in-law, Bernard Wilson of Alcester, and three nephews.
