Sioux Center-- Mrs. John Miedema, 82, Sioux Center, died Sunday in the Sioux Center Community hospital after a lengthy illness.
Services were at l0:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, The Rev. John Piersma officiated and burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center under direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
Mrs. Miedema, the former Jennie Bleyenberg, was born Feb. 24, l895 in the Netherlands. She was married Feb. 20, l9l9 in Ireton. They farmed near Ireton until Mr. Miedema's death March 30, l936. Mrs. Miedema and her children farmed near Sioux Center until l945, when she moved to town. She had been in a nursing home the last eight years.
Survivors include a son, Henry of Mitchell, S.D.; five daughters, Mrs. Rich (Ida) Van Donge, Mrs. Nelson (Theresa) Cleveringa and Miss Henrietta Miedema, all of Sioux Center, Mrs. William (Frieda) Bierma of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Mrs. Leroy (Dorothy) Kleene of Sioux City.
