Herman, son of John and Kate (De Jong) Harmelink, was born August 24, l9l4 at Newkirk, Iowa on the family farm. He attended country school in that area.
He was united in marriage to Doris De Zeeuw on May 25, l942 at Sioux Center, Iowa. After their marriage they lived in the Newkirk area where they farmed and were the custodians of the Newkirk Reformed Church.
Herman was a life long member of the Newkirk Reformed Church and a member of the men's society.
He is survived by his wife and three sons and their wives: Gene and Sandy of Brantwood, Wisconsin; lyle and Shelly of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Bryce and Jenny of Casper, Wyoming; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Peter Harmelink of alton, Iowa; John Harmelink of Spirit Lake, Iowa; three sisters: Florence (Mrs. Pete) Zorgdrager of Portage, Michigan; Fannie Jonker of Orange City, Iowa; and Eunice (Mrs. Willard) Vande Hoef of Englewood, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Kenneth, and two sisters: Kathyran Drost and Edith Holton.
The family invites relatives and friends to return to the church after the committal service for a time of caring and sharing.
