Obituary: Rock Valley, IA: Brad Mauthe, 56, died in his sleep at home, Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Memorial Service will be 2 pm Tuesday Dec. 29 at Pioneer United Methodist Church, Rock Valley. Visitation with family will begin 6:30 pm and Prayer Service 7:30 pm Monday at Porter Funeral Home.

Bradley James Mauthe was born April 8, 1953 at Appleton, Wisconsin, son of Gilbert and Joyce (Van Domelen) Mauthe. He served in the U.S. Army 1972-75 and also Army Reserves. Brad married Brenda DeVos on October 26, 1975 at Madison, Wisconsin. Together they lived one year at Orange City, IA before moving to Rock Valley. Brad worked at Kooima Manufacturing (now TCS) for 25 years before becoming disabled. Thru the years Brad was active in helping with Cub Scouts, the Optimist Club, bowling, fishing and camping, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Brad is survived by his wife, Brenda; 2 sons, Derick (Roberta) Mauthe and their 5 girls, Amanda, Rebekah, Gabriela, Elizabeth, and Emma all of Cheyenne, WY, Jeremy (Christina) Mauthe of Boyden, IA; his step-mother, Sue Swanson of Freeport, IL; sister, Pam (Mark) Koerner of Appleton, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Rebecca Mauthe.
