CHARLES MIERAS, MAU. DIES AT AGE OF 56

Charles Mieras passed away Sunday morning at the age of 56. Five years ago he suffered a stroke from which he partly recovered. One year ago he had another severe stroke which left him entirely helpless. He became unconscious Saturday evening and death came at 7:30 Sunday morning.

Charles Mieras was born near Maurice in June 1890. His parents lived on the same farm which he has occupied for years. In 1918 he was married to Florence Steele by whom he is survived, besides his seven children: Howard, at home; Helen, a nurse in the Naval Hospital at Annapolis; Mrs. James Greer, Marcia, of Alabama; Audrey, a student nurse at Morningside, Sioux City; Jason, Nellie, and Becky, at home, and also one grandchild. His aged father, J.S. Mieras of Sioux City also survives besides one brother, Frank Mieras of Emerson, Nebr., and five sisters, Mrs. Harry Hamilton, Ada, of Nampa, Idaho; Mrs. C.L. Jackson, Minnie, of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Earl Cobb, Esther, of San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. George Seeley, Hazel, of Scotts Bluff, Nebr.; and Mrs. C. Farrin, Eleanor of Morningside.

Funeral services were held in the First Reformed Church of Maurice Wednesday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. J. Roggin and Rev. Share of the Methodist Church of Le Mars officiating. Interment took place in the Sherman Twp. Cemetery.

Mr. Mieras was a veteran of World War 1.
