From The Sioux Center (Iowa) News, September 9, 1948:

Funeral services for Jacob S. Mieras, 90, a resident at the Methodist hospital in Sioux City the last four years, who died Tuesday after a long illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside. Rev. W.R. Moore of the Morningside Presbyterian church will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Mieras was born January 6, 1858, at Paris Corners, Wisc. He homesteaded at Maurice, Iowa, where he resided until 1912 when he came to Sioux City. A brother, John E., resides at Maurice. Pall bearers will be Howard and Jason Mieras, Clifton Farrin Jr., Edward W. Mieras and Lewis Mieras.
