LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. TIMMER

Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Timmer, 79, who died Sunday at the Burnight Nursing home where she had been a patient the past three years, were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Associated church, Rev. William Sebring officiating. Burial was at Valley View cemetery at Rock Valley under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home.

Mrs. Hal Shoemaker was the organist and accompanied Mr. Shoemaker as soloist.

Casket bearers were grandsons--James Roti, Fritz Beck, James Hoffman, Tony Danielson, Mario Timmer and Andy Shannon.

Gertrude Haarsma was born at Orange City September 28, 1883. She married Richard Timmer in 1905 at Rock Valley.

They farmed south of Chatsworth many years until their retirement to Hawarden. Mr. Timmer died in 1934. Mrs. Timmer was also preceded in death by a son who died in his youth.

She was a member of the Associated church in Hawarden.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Jennie Beck and Mrs. Bill (Alberta) Altene, both of Hawarden, Mrs. Clara Shannon of Sioux City, Mrs. Harriet Newman of Sibley and Mrs. Andrew (Frances) Harmelink of Fairview; three sons, Richard and John, both of Butte, Mont., and Henry Timmer of Onawn (sic--Onawa), Iowa; 38 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren.
