Peter Jeltema

Peter Jeltema passed away at his home early Saturday morning, after being ill for 9 years. He was 84 years old.

Mr. Jeltema was born in 1861 in Menischa, Friesland, The Netherlands. He came to America in 1892, and was married to Maartje Haarsma on May 4, 1894. Five children were born to this union: Dora (Mrs. Arie Smits), John Jeltema, both of Orange City, Dieuwke (Mrs. Marvin Timmerman) of Lake Odessa, Mich., Bertha (Mrs. Peter Kroese) of Maurice, and Peter Jeltema, jr. of Lake Odessa, Mich. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Janneje Sodsma, is living in the Old Country.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home and at the First Christian Reformed Church with Dr. Bronkema officiating. Burial was in the local cemetery.
