Clayton Schouten

Clayton Schouten, 58, of Rock Valley, was dead on arrival Sunday at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley

Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, in the First Reformed Church of Rock Valley. The Rev. Gordon Bloemendaal officiated. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Schouten was born Feb. 11, 1924, at Ireton. He married Maryls Scholten April 30, 1949, at Luverne, Minn. He made his home in the Doon area where he was a rural mail carrier, moving to Rock Valley in 1981.

Mr. Schouten was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dean of Cedar Rapids, Kenneth of Cherokee and Roger of Rifle, Colo.; one daughter, Gloria Telford of Rock Valley; one brother, Wallace of Santa Clara, Calif., and four grandchildren.
