JOHN A. SCHOLTEN

John A. Scholten, 54, of Rock Valley, died March 2 in the Rock Valley hospital of a long illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. March 4 in the First Reformed Church at Rock Valley. The Rev. E. R. Voogd officiated and burial was in the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley under the direction of the Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Scholten was born October 20, 1921, at Hull. He married Violet Larson November 17, 1950 at Inwood. He was a salesman for Moorman Feeds and was a longtime resident of Rock Valley.

Survivors include the widow; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Scholten of Rock Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Clayton (Marlys) Schouten of Doon, and Mrs. William (Ila) Dirksen of Ripon, Calif.

(NOTE--The SSDI record is inconsistent with John's obit regarding his date of death. The former says Feb.; the latter says Mar 2.)
