LAST RITES HELD FOR JOE OLDENKAMP, 65

Funeral services for Joe Oldenkamp, 65, of Rock Valley were held Monday, August 11 at 1:30 p.m. in the Pioneer United Methodist Church with the Rev. W.E. Ballard officiating. Organist Mrs. Peter Wynia accompanied Mrs. Warren Anderson who sang "Beyond The Sunset," and "Beside the Still waters". Pallbearers were Edwin Abma, Jake Abma, Frank Gerritsen, Herman Dykstra, John Wesselink, and Harold Roelofs. Burial was in Valley View Cemetery under the direction of Porter Funeral Home.

Mr. Oldenkamp died Saturday August 9, at his farm home. He was born September 5, 1903, on a farm near Sheldon. In 1907, he moved with his family to a farm near Rock Valley. He attended Rock Valley public schools where he was active in sports. He married Pansy Vail on June 9, 1925, in Orange City and moved to the farm northeast of Rock Valley, where he was still engaged in farming.

He is survived by his widow, one son, Robert, of Hawarden, three grandchildren; two brothers, Herman and Adrian, and a sister, Mrs. George Van Beek, Sr., all of Rock Valley, and a sister, Mrs. Leonard DeVries of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
