Mrs. Minnie De Vries passed away late Monday night July 14, 1969 in Orange City at the age of 85 years. She was born February 28, 1884 near Orange City, Iowa to Jan Hendrik and Johanna Dora (Kleinhesselink) Kleinwolterink. On February 4, 1904 she was united in marriage to Peter De Vries near Orange City, IA, who preceded her in death on February 20, 1962 in Sioux Center, IA. To this union 11 children were born all of whom survive: Johanna, Mrs. John De Beer of Orange City, IA.; Arta, Mrs. William Huisman of Orange City, IA; Dena, Mrs. Clarence Jonker of Orange City, IA; Bert of Denver, CO.; John of Minneapolis, MN.; Herman of Jefferson, IA.; Hattie, Mrs. Ed De Groot of Denver, CO.; Clarine, Mrs. Henry Westra of Orange City, IA; Winnefred, Mrs. Marvin Van Muyden of Sioux Center, IA; Wilhelmina, Mrs. Dick Fallow of Davenport, IA.; and Peter Junior of Sioux City, IA. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. George Bonnema. She was preceded by 1 grandchild, 1 great-grandchild, 2 sisters Hattie Kleinwolterink and Mrs. Gerrit Rens and one brother Henry Kleinwolterink. Her passing is mourned by many friends and relatives.
