Johanna Dora De Beer, 72, died July 3, 1977 following a sudden illness. Mrs. De Beer was born February 27, 1905, on a farm near Orange City, the daughter of Peter and Wilhelmina (Kleinwolterink) De Vries. On February 4, 1927, she was married to John De Beer near Orange City. The couple farmed near Carnes prior to moving to Orange City in 1968.

Mrs. De Beer was a member of the First Reformed Church and Lydia Circle.

Surviving are her husband, John; two sons, Fred of Orange City, IA and John Jr. of San Diago, CA.; five daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Darlene)Vander Aarde of Andhra Pradesh, South India, Mrs. David (Minerva) Van Peursem of Orange City, IA., Mrs. Kermit (Marilyn) Hoffs of Phoenix, AZ, Mrs. Walter J.(Ruth) Wilson of Grosse Point Woods, MI., and Mrs. Duane (Laura) Peuse of Holstein, IA; 22 grandchilden; six sisters, Mrs. Bill (Arta) Huisman, Mrs. Clarence (Dena)Jonker, Mrs. Henry (Clarine) Westra, all of Orange City, IA., Mrs. Edward (Hattie) De Groot, of Denver, CO,. Mrs. Marvin (Winifred)Van Muyden of Sioux Center, IA., and Mrs. Dick (Myna) Fallow of Davenport, IA. and three brothers, Edwin (Bert) of Denver, CO., Herman of Russelville, Ark., and Peter De Vries of Sioux City, IA. She was preceded in death by a son, Peter, a grandson, Leon Vander Aarde, and a brother, John.
Service July 6, 1977 at First Reformed Church in Orange City, IA.
