MARRIED MONDAY EVENING

Miss Luella Eilers Becomes Bride of Mr. John Wilkison

Miss Luella Eilers and Mr. John Wilkison were married at 6 o'clock Monday evening (November 16, 1936) at the Lutheran parsonage in this city, Rev. George Steinkamp officiating. They were attended by Miss Inez Treiber and Mr. Ralph Wilkison, a brother of the bridegroom. The bride was: attired in blue, her dress being of crepe with blue accessories. Her bridesmaid wore a pink crepe gown. A wedding dinner was served at the Lilley hotel ,at 7 o'clock to the bridal party and members of the two immediate families. The banquet table was decorated in blue, the bride's chosen color, and a huge wedding cake graced the center of the table. Following the dinner a reception dance was held at the City. Auditorium which was attended by more than seven hundred people. Refreshments were served to this large crowd. The bridal couple received a large number of useful and beautiful gifts from their friends.

The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Eilers of Washington township and her entire life has been spent in this community where she numbers her friends by her acquaintances. After completing her grade school education she entered the Hawarden high school, graduating with the class of 1933. Since completing her high school course, she has been engaged in the teaching profession, having taught south of Chatsworth. The bridegroom, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilkison, he also spent most of his life here. He is a graduate of the Hawarden high school, being a member of the class of 1932. He is employed by his father in the trucking business and is an industrious young man. They will make their home in this city. This young couple has a host of friends who will wish to extend congratulations an best wishes to them.
