WELL KNOWN COUPLE WED

Miss Muriel Kavanaugh and Mr. Vernon Esser Married Monday Morning

Miss Muriel Kavanaugh and Mr. Vernon (Butch) Esser were married at 7 o'clock Monday morning at St. Mary's church in this city, Rev. Fr. J. M. Neppel officiating. They were attended by her sister and brother, Mrs. Anna Hedden and Mr. Lawrence Kavanaugh of Spink. The bride was becomingly attired in a blue linen dress with white accessories. Following the ceremony a wedding breakfast was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Murray to the members of the immediate families. The breakfast was served by Misses Alta and Billie Esser, sisters of the bridegroom. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Agnes Kavanaugh of Spink and she grew up in that vicinity. She is a graduate of the Vermillion high school and of the South Dakota Normal at Springfield. She was employed as a teacher in various schools in Union county but for the past year she has spent much of the time here with her sister, Mrs. Anna Hedden. The bridegroom is the youngest son of Mrs. John Murray of Hawarden. He attended the Hawarden public schools, graduating from the local high school with the class of '28. When in high school he took an active part in athletics and was one of the mainstays of the foot ball team during much of his high school career. He is employed by the L. G. Everist Co. in this city. They have gone to housekeeping in an apartment in Mrs. Thill's apartment house. The Independent joins their friends in wishing them a happy married life.
