This story was taken from pages 164-165 of the Rock Valley St. Mary’s Catholic Church Book written for the centennial of the church in about 1982(?). The story was transcribed for this BIOS by Beth De Leeuw of the Greater Sioux County Genealogical Society. Some research notes were added.
ADOLPH TREBON was born in Buchanan County, Iowa on June 20, 1862, to Henry Trebon and Anna (Burke) Trebon. As a young man he spent two years farming near Bloomington, Nebraska, and at Storm Lake, Iowa. He came to Sioux County, Iowa about 1889.
ANNA KASKIE was born in Buchanan County, near Fairbank, Iowa, in June of 1872, where she spent her girlhood. At the age of 14 she moved to Storm Lake, Iowa to live with her brother, Will, and his wife. After living there for three years, she came to this vicinity and married Adolph Trebon in 1890.
After their marriage Adolph and Anna lived near Hudson, South Dakota, where their first daughter, EVA, was born on February 19, 1892. After two years they bought a farm seven miles west and one mile south of Rock Valley, Iowa, where they lived for about seven years. This is where their second daughter CHRISTINA (Tene) was born on March 15, 1897.
The Trebon family moved to Rock Valley, Iowa, in about 1899. Adolph will be remembered by his family and friends for the large garden he always planted and cared for, and the produce he sold and gave to others.
EVA continued to live at home with her parents until their death. She then made her home with her sister, Tene and her husband, Lawrence Richter.

Anna (Kaskie) Trebon passed away at her home on October 9, 1936, at the age of 64 years. She is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rock Valley, Iowa.
Adolph Trebon passed away at his home on September 26, 1942, at the age of 80 years. He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rock Valley, Iowa.

Funeral services for Adolph “Adam” Trebon, 80, were held Tuesday morning at 9:00 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mr. Trebon passed away September 26.
Adolph “Adam” Trebon was born in Buchanan County, Iowa on June 20, 1862. He farmed near Bloomington, Nebraska and Storm Lake, Iowa for two years then he came to Sioux County about 1889 and married Miss Ann Kaskie. The young couple settled on a farm near Hudson, South Dakota and after farming there for two years they bought a farm seven miles west and one mile south where they farmed for five years. Then the Trebon family moved into Rock Valley where they continued to live until Mrs. Trebon passed away six years ago.
He is survived by his two daughters, Miss Eva Trebon and Mrs. Lawrence Richter both of Rock Valley, two sisters Mrs. F. P. Berger of Sioux City and Mrs. J.A. Beierschmitt and three brothers Charles, Henry and Gustav all of Fairbanks, Iowa.
Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Reverend McGoey officiating.OBITUARY OF ANNA TREBON

Funeral services were held last Monday morning for Mrs. Adolph "Adam" Trebon at the St. Mary's Church who passed out in this life October 9, 1936.
Anne Kaske was born in Buchanan County near Fairbank, Iowa, where she spent her girlhood, move to Storm Lake at the age of fourteen years. She lived there for three years with her brother before coming to this vicinity where she married Adolph Trebon in 1890. They made their home near Hudson, South Dakota for two years and on a farm west of Rock Valley. They moved to their present home in Rock Valley thirty-seven years ago.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Adolph Trebon, two daughters, Miss Eva Trebon of Rock Valley and Mrs. Lawrence Richter in the Hudson vicinity, one sister, Mrs. Mary Reith of Goshen, Indiana and two grandchildren, Richard and Robert Richter of Hudson, South Dakota. Interment was made in St. Mary's Cemetery where the regular burial ritual was used at the grave.
Besides a wide circle of relatives, Mrs. Trebon will be, missed by her many friends among whom she has lived these many years.A picture of the family from the St. Mary’s book will follow:
