Military service: Enlisted in the U. S. Air Force in 1950, serving at Craig Air Force Base in Selma, AL as an Air Force policeman. Although he qualified for pilot training, his commanding officer requested that he serve in the states by his side, having already noticed his strong presence. Honorably discharged in 1954.

Employment: Farmed the family homestead; retired in 1995

Hobbies/Interests: Very engaged in his community, serving on the school board, the county board of supervisors, the Farmers Mutual Insurance Board, and various church committees. After his retirement, he and Joanne enjoyed their winters in Apache Junction, AZ; loved woodworking, learning the skill of carving.
