Military service: enlisted into the U. S. Army Reserves in July 1966.

Marriage: Judy Kloewer; Sep. 21, 1968; St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Harlan, Shelby County, IA

Employment: Farmed for 22 years while also working at Western Engineering for more than 35 years; had a talent for designing and building machines; worked as a mechanic on stock cars; drove school bus for many years and coached trapshooting for Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton School.

Hobbies/Interests: Was an avid hunter, ice fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors; enjoyed reading; Carl was known for his barbecuing, grilling, smoking, and experimenting with meat.
