Religious affiliation: Baptized by her father on Feb. 9, 1936, at First St. Paul parsonage, Wellesley, Ontario, Canada; member, Peace Lutheran, Harlan, IA; she also played the organ there and at other churches in the Harlan area over the past 40-some years.

Employment: When Kenneth joined U.S. Air Force as a chaplain, Helen spent her career teaching hearing-impaired and other children at various military bases throughout the U. S. and West Germany. After divorcing, she took a teaching position with the Iowa area special education Education Agency Instructional Service (AEA 13) in Harlan, IA, where she remained.
