Employment: After completing his military service, he began farming and raising cattle after a brief stint working for the Defiance Bank.

Hobbies/Interests: playing cards, bowling, reading, politics, avid Cornhusker fan. Member, Pork Producers, the Crawford County Cattlemen’s Association and the American Legion Post 8 of Denison, IA; was a 3rd and 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus.
