Employment: In 1965, he began working as a barber in Avoca, IA and in 1966, he opened his own barber shop, “Bob’s Barber Shop.” He worked as a barber until the early 1970's, when he began driving a truck for CRST in Avoca, IA; he then worked for several different companies in the area over the next few years until becoming a dispatcher in 1976 where he remained until his stroke in 2006. After that, Bob worked various jobs until his retirement in early 2016.

Hobbies/Interests: helped to create the Jaycee Club in Avoca, where he was an active member as a businessman; loved to bowl and played on different leagues in his younger days; was a member of the 500 Club in Council Bluffs, IA with 25 years sobriety.
