Employment: The family lived on a farm west of Panama until 1973. At that time, they remodeled a farmhouse and moved it to a farm north of Panama. JoAnn stayed busy raising the children and keeping up with all of their activities.

Hobbies/Interests: She was a 4–H leader, an advocate for the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, SD, was an active Red Cross volunteer, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Earling (IA).
