Survived by: Brothers, Gerald (spouse, LoAnne) Reinig of Portsmouth, IA, Clarence (spouse, Jann) Reinig of Portsmouth, IA, and Edward (spouse, Betty) Reinig of Harlan, IA; sisters, Helen Mouser of Wellington, KS, Dr. Alice Reinig (spouse, Norm Schoenfeld) of Del Mar, CA, and Margie Taylor of Arvada, CO, sisters-in-law, Rose Mary Reinig of Harlan, IA and Sylvia Kepford of San Jacinto, CA; thirty nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; other family members and friends

Education: Graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1948; she went on to graduate from Barnes Cosmetology School in Council Bluffs, IA in 1960.

Religious affiliation: She was baptized, received her first communion, and was confirmed at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Panama. She remained a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church until moving to Harlan, IA in 1989, when she became a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Employment: She had her own shop in Harlan, "Reinig’s Beauty Salon." She enjoyed her work, was kind and helpful to everyone, and loved her patrons, even helping if they needed a ride. Irene retired in 1992.

Irene was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 1991 and spent time living at the Friendship Home in Audubon, IA, before becoming a resident of Rose Vista in Woodbine, IA, in 1997.

Hobbies/Interests: After she retired, Irene traveled overseas and in this country. Irene loved gardening of both vegetables and flowers. Her other hobbies were crocheting, tatting, and making quilts. She was musically talented, being able to play piano and accordion.
