Funeral services: Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Harlan, IA; Pastor Ron Rasmussen officiated. Burial was at the Charter Oak Cemetery in Charter Oak, IA.

Survived by: Daughters, Virginia Genzen of Des Moines, IA and Anita Englemann of Newnan, GA; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends

Predeceased by: Parents, Julius and Emma (nee Lorenzen) Ranninger; husbands, Charles Engelmann (deceased 1950) and Pete Petersen (deceased Oct. 3, 2008); sister, Marion Joens; brother-in-law, Gilmore Joens.

Education: Attended school in Manning, IA, graduating from high school with the class of 1939. She then attended Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA where she received Normal Training to become a school teacher.

Employment: After completing her training post-high school, she taught school in Iowa Township School No. One in Carroll County, IA., until her first marriage.

Hobbies/Interests: MayDelle was a lifetime member of the Military Officers Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. An avid reader, especially Bible Study, she enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking, baking and cleaning her home.
