Phyllis Lorraine (Neubaum) Bielfeldt passed peacefully June 5, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA at 71 years. She passed after a short stay at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA and less than a month after being diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. She remained cheerful and had a smile through all her days.

She was born on December 21, 1940 in Ute, IA to Marvin and Eleanora (Miller) Neubaum. She was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hanover Township, Charter Oak, IA. She attended country school at Morgan School and then attended 7th and 8th Grades at Hanover near Charter Oak and was confirmed in 1954. After completing High School in Schleswig, IA in 1959 she attended Cosmetology School in Sioux City, IA. She then opened a beauty shop in Schleswig, IA.

She was united into marriage to Glen Bielfeldt on February 9, 1964 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hanover Township, Charter Oak, IA. To this union two children were born, Jon Glen and Ann Louise. The family moved to Perry, IA in 1974 where they still reside.

Phyllis liked flower gardening, cooking, baking, shopping, traveling to visit family & friends, and her bridge club which she was a part of for 34 years. She was also a member of the Perry Golf and Country Club.

She worked for many years as a beautician at Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry and then worked for 15 ½ years at Bacon Jewelry in Perry until she retired June 1, 2011. She enjoyed meeting and talking with people. She brightened many days and touched many lives. She will truly be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Eleanora Neubaum. She is survived by her husband Glen, her children Jon (Laura) Bielfeldt of Clarinda, IA and Ann (Bob) Presler of Earlham, IA; grandchildren Benton Bielfeldt, Abigail Presler and Allison Presler; sisters Marian Stockfleth of Schleswig, IA and Joyce (Adrian) O'Meara of Las Vegas, NV; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be directed to Relay For Life, Mercy Hospice – Johnston or the charity of your choice. They may be left or sent to Murdock Funeral Home, 1420 Warford Street, Perry, Iowa 50220 or may be left at Immanuel Lutheran Church at the time of the memorial service.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 501 Glad Street, Schleswig, IA. A visitation with family present was held from 3:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry.
