Good morning John, You have to find your people on the census records before you start looking for death records. You state you're looking for a RANDOLPH Huss. born Ia. circa 1888 and wife Lena (Seibel) Huss. A Davenport area website has a marriage certificate for a RUDOLPH Huss & Lena Seibel in 1899. He would have been 11 yrs of age then. Census records I have found from 1885-1920 list him as Rudolph Huss, born circa 1878. On the 1900 he is living with his mother and enumerated as single. Is he really single or a widower? Did the marriage actually occur? Something you have to consider when looking for Lena's death data. Is she buried in Davenport as Lena Huss or in the twp she was living in as Lena Seibel? She is on the 1895 with her parents but not there in 1900 either. The 1920 2nd ward of Davenport census you refer to with him living with his mother Anna is actually the 1910 census. The 1920 enumerates him living alone. Anna is no doubt deceased. John you recently posted on another county website and when I responded with a well meant suggestion that you include ages, nativities and a time frame in your request, your reply back was that that was the rudest response you had ever received. Please realize John, when you post without providing the basic search criteria, or ensuring that it's accurate as best you can discover, you're wasting everyone's time including your own. We're all here to assist each other John, but we have to be given the right data to work with to accomplish this. Dick
