Chas. F. Stein, stepfather of Senator Alfred Hurst, died at the home of Mr. Hurst Thursday morning. Mr. Stein was 80 years of age and was born in Germany. He came to this county in 1848 and located at Davenport, where he remained until the death of his wife six or seven years ago, since which time he has made his home with Senator Hurst. The remains will be taken to Davenport, for interment.
