Micajah L. [Lippincott] Eldridge, a resident of Davenport and this immediate vicinity since his birth in [22 August] 1845, passed away at St. Luke's hospital at 8:40 o'clock Monday evening after an illness of several months. He would have been 80 years of age the 22nd of this month. His death was due to heart trouble. The home is at 848 East River Drive, Bettendorf. [Chattaqua Point].
Mr. Eldridge retired from active business life some years ago, having been associated with his [step] brother, J. M. Eldridge [Jacob Mullen] in the real estate business. Surviving are three sons, D. C. Eldridge of this city [Duncan Challen], Dr. W. B. Eldridge of Olean, N.Y. [William B], and S. B. Eldridge of Houston, Tex [S. Benjamin] and two daughters Dr. Annie Eldridge Burns of Hartford, Conn., and Mrs Mae Moore Files of Madison, Me.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o-clock from the McGinnis funeral home, Bettendorf, with the Rev Rodney Cobb in charge. The body will be removed to the Davenport crematoriam for incineration. The family kindly request that flowers be omitted.
