Funeral services for Mrs. Walter (Ella C.) Schlapkohl, 92, were held at the Lacock Funeral home Jan. 18 with the Rev. L. Jack Ehlers officiating. The Stockton Royal Neighbors of America also conducted a service at that time. Burial was in the Durant cemetery. A memorial to the Durant ambulance fund has been established.

Mrs. Schlapkohl died at the Bethesda Care center Jan. 16.

The daughter of Christian and Emma Paustian, she was born in Hickory Grove township, Scott county, Aug. 6, 1892. She married Walter Schlapkohl in Davenport Jan. 10, 1931. The couple farmed near Stockton. He died in 1966.

She was a member of the Durant Senior Citizens and a charter (1917) member of the Stockton RNA, Camp 8557.

She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 10 brothers and a sister.
