Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Mordhorst, 66, New Liberty were held at Durant Feb. 4. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park cemetery. The Rev. G. W. Ukena of the Wilton Presbyterian church officiated.

Mrs. Mordhorst died at Mercy hospital in Davenport Feb. 2 following a heart attack.

Born June 15, 1904 at Eldridge, she was a daughter of Adolph and Annie Muhs. She had lived at New Liberty 22 years.

Elsie Muhs married Clarence C. Mordhorst, Feb. 7, 1929 at Davenport. The couple farmed in Scott county before moving to New Liberty where they operated Morty's Tavern.

Survivors are 2 daughters, Mrs. Otto (Delores) Stender, Walcott and Mrs. Fred (Darlene) Dircks, New Liberty; 4 brothers, Edward, Eldridge; Benjamin, Grand Mound; George, Fairborn, Ohio and Harry, Davenport; 2 sisters, Mrs. Nora Arp, Davenport and Mrs. Albert (Frances) Arp, Eldridge; also 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
