Mrs. Leonard Johannsen, 70, Durant, died July 7 after a lingering illness. Services are July 11 in Runge Chapel with interment in Davenport Memorial park cemetery.

The former Alvena Martens was born in Scott county north of Stockton. She was married to Mr. Johannsen Nov. 28, 1923, in Davenport. The couple farmed in Scott, Cedar and Muscatine counties until 1951 when they moved to Durant. Mr. Johannsen died Aug. 27, 1957.

Survivors include a son, William, Durant; daughters, Mrs. Henry (Phyllis) Kroeger, Tipton; Mrs. James (Darlene) Paustian, Durant, and Mrs. James (Dell) Reimers, Stockton; 14 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Arthur Paulsen, Davenport; Mrs. Herman Muller, Lancaster, Mo.; Mrs. Emil Fahrenkrog, Donahue; Mrs. George Fahrenkrug, DeWitt, and Mrs. Kenneth Ditto, Davenport, and brothers, Gilbert, Durant; Riley, Walter, Billie and Dallas, all of Davenport, and Vincent, Racine, Wis.
