Earl G. Hunter, 72, of 1522 W. 4th street, Davenport, died unexpectedly today at 6:45 a.m. in his home of a heart attack.
He was born Jan. 30, 1865 [sic], in Jacksonville, Ill. He came to Davenport in 1912. He married Adelia E. Wilkening Aug. 7, 1912 in Monmouth.
For 36 years he was employed by the former Bettendorf Co., as a foreman. He worked for the Ordnance Steel Co., until his retirement. Mr. Hunter was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, No. 235.
Surviving are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Ouderkirk and Mrs. Helen Ward, both of Davenport, Mrs. Bernice Been, Silvis, and 10 grandchildren. A son preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Runge Chapel. The Rev. William R. Eller will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
