BETTENDORF, Iowa - Carol A. Brade, 79, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, at Clarissa Cook House.

Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Oliver will officiate. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Carol was born on October 24, 1942, in Muscatine, the daughter of Charles C. and Jean Shirley Shellabarger Harbaugh. She married William R. Brade on August 25, 1967. He later passed in September 1985.

Carol was an English teacher and later a librarian. She resided for the last 15 years in Bettendorf and worked at Scott Community College Library and the Bettendorf Public Library. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, libraries, Siamese cats, Elvis, and old movies.

She is survived by her sister, Debra Rowley and husband, Doug, of Davenport; two nephews, Winston Rowley of Seattle, Washington, and Garrett Rowley and fiancé Kayla Arnold, of Davenport; and cousins, Marian Harbaugh of Clinton, Gail Diehl and husband, Rich, of Sycamore, Illinois, and Lee Ann Murdoch and husband, Craig, of Racine, Wisconsin.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, James Harbaugh.
