Mrs. Lizzie M. Wilkening, 82, of 1226 W. 7th street., Davenport, died in Mercy hospital, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, following an illness of five months.

The former Lizzie Berndt was born Oct. 1, 1873, in Chicago, Ill. She attended Chicago schools. She was married to Emil J. Wilkening in Chicago, June 7, 1893. The couple moved to Davenport in 1913. Mr. Wilkening preceded her in death, April 11, 1950. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Earl G. Hunter, Davenport, and Mrs. F. J. Hayes, Thomson, Ill.; one son, Herbert J., at home; three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; one sister, Amanda Boyd, and a brother, Fred Berndt, Blue Island, Ill. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, in Runge Chapel. Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery.
