Walcott Citizen Called in Death

Peter Strueben, a well known Walcott citizen, passed away late Saturday evening at his home in Walcott, following a stroke. The deceased was born in Germany, April 11, 1842. He was united in marriage in Germany and had four children by this first marriage. After his first wife passed away he came to America and direct to Walcott in 1895. He was united in marriage with Miss Johanna Kaidasch in Davenport in 1896. He has followed the carpenter business both in the old country and in Walcott. He is survived by his wife, and two children by his second marriage, Mrs. Martha Wolvert and Bernhard Strueben, and four children by his first marriage who are living in Germany. One brother, Claus, resides in Walcott, and a sister, Mrs. Margaretha Hartwig, in Germany.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home in Walcott, with interment in Walcott cemetery.
