The Daily Times; Davenport, Iowa; Tuesday, September 13, 1904:

Late Saturday evening at her home in Walcott, Ia., occurred the death of Mrs. Maria Kaidash after a prolonged illness. She was born in Busum, Holstein, Germany, and came to America and directly to Walcott, Ia., in the early sixties and has made her home there ever since. Deceased was 65 years of age at the time of her death. She was married to John Kaidash, who conducted a blacksmith shop in Walcott, Ia., but who died twenty-five years ago. Of ten children, three survive her: Mrs. L. Langfeldt, of South Dakota; Mrs. Johanna Strueben, of Walcott, and Mrs. Mary Schaeffer, of Walcott, Ia. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon with interment in Walcott cemetery.
