Charles Hoffbauer, a former resident of Scott county and a veteran of the Civil War, died suddenly Saturday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Virginia Koepke, in Milwaukee.
He was a resident of Walcott previous to the war and after the close of it he made his home in Buffalo until about 25 years ago when the family removed to Milwaukee.Deceased was nearly 69 years of age, being born Jan. 18, 1842. He enlisted in the 12th Missouri infantry and served three years. He is survived by two sons and five daughters, two brothers and two sisters. Hugo Hoffbauer of Buffalo is a brother. The funeral arrangements have not as yet been announced.
