Funeral services were held Oct. 6 for Henry W. Thumann, 59, 624 Cedar St., Davenport, at Runge Chapel, Davenport. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Mr. Thumann died Oct. 3 at Mercy hospital, Davenport, after a brief illness. He had been employed at John Deere Plow Works, Moline, 32 years, retiring in 1973.

Mr. Thumann was born in Cedar county. He married Norma G. Eickhoff in 1940 in Davenport. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Dianne) Beck, Blue Grass; sons, Larry H., rural Blue Grass; LaVerne G., McCausland; Leon R., rural Tipton, and Leslie A., Lyle W. and Dennis D., all of Davenport; and 15 grandchildren.

Those attending from the area were cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hodgen and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Otte, Oxford Junction; and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Otte and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Otte, Lowden; and an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Luettjohann, Swisher.
