An illness of two months, from chronic pleurisy was ended unexpectedly yesterday morning by the sudden death of Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson, at her home, 602 East Fourteenth street.

Mrs. Johnson had lived in Davenport for 48 years, and was the widow of William Johnson, whose death occurred March 1, 1912. She was 68 years of age. Hope had been entertained that she would survive her present illness, and the end came quite without warning. Four children survive--Brice R., George S., Cora M., and William R. Johnson. Mrs. E.P. Parmele is a niece. Mrs. Johnson was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian church, and formerly of the United Presbyterian church of this city. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Thursday, with interment at Oakdale. Dr. Leroy M. Coffman and the Rev. J.T. Meloy, former pastor of the United Presbyterian church here, now of Hoopestown, Ill., will officiate.
